Hundreds of chefs have donned the Top chef jacket, but none won back-to-back titles until Buddha Lo stormed the Top Chef kitchen in recent seasons. His culinary creations are unique, and his technical skills are top shelf.
Yet Buddha’s distinguishing characteristic as a Top Chef contestant is his pure love for the show. There are few ways he’d prefer to spend a day than under the gun and on the clock in a Top Chef Elimination Challenge. As much fun as he had presiding as guest judge in last week’s Frank Lloyd Wright episode, he’d still rather be back in the kitchen facing off against Rasika and Danny than schmoozing at the judges’ table.
Buddha dropped into Pack Your Knives to dish with Tom and Kevin about his time on the set, who actually served the best dish of the week, getting to watch Kristen Kish at work in her rookie season, and whom he’d name White House chef should he ever occupy the Oval Office.
Reminder: We will be hosting the inaugural Pack Your Knives’ Live Chat during the broadcast of Top Chef on Wednesday night, April 17 at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific. We’ll be reacting in real time to the show, and opening up commenting so you can too! The chat is open to all subscribers to the Pack Your Knives Substack. If your friend, relative, neighbor, or the weird dude at work you avoid talking to about anything other than Top Chef wants to join the chat, encourage them to subscribe here so they can participate:
